The second international watercolor exhibition will be opened at the Hanoi Museum, Nam Tu Liem District in the capital on October 23, creating an opportunity for visitors to take a close look at the original artworks of world-class watercolor artists.

Organized by the International Watercolor Society (IWS) in Vietnam in collaboration with the Hanoi Museum, the show will feature 217 watercolor works by 216 artists from 45 countries.

The event is expected to be attended by world-renowned watercolor artists such as Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi and Amit Kapoor.

In addition, there will be a painting performance by Atanur Dogan, president of IWS, and invited artists at home and abroad including Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi, Mai Nguyen, Bui Duy Khanh, and Yuko Nagayama on October 23 and 27.

As part of the event, around 100 artists whose works are on display at the exhibition will join hands to produce a 40-meter-long watercolor painting on October 25 on Cat Ba Island, the longest of its kind in Vietnam.

Lasting until November 15, the exhibition will help the public gain an insight into cultures, traditions and lifestyles as well as diverse painting styles of countries around the world.

After the exhibition, the organizing committee will hold workshops and painting displays by international artists.
