Media notice: VEC imposes denial of service on vehicles violating regulations on VEC-managed expressways.
Mar 13 2017
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) is currently the Investor of 6 expressway projects, 3 of those have been completed and put into service with the total length of 350km, making up 52% of national expressway. After being put into operation, expressways managed by VEC have contributed greatly to boosting the local economy in areas along the expressways in particular and the national economy in general, narrowing the regional gap, reducing traffic incidents and accidents, minimizing pollution in the cities,... Those are important transport projects bringing economic efficiency.
While managing and operating 3
expressways (Cau Gie – Ninh Binh, Noi Bai – Lao Cai and Ho Chi Minh city – Long
Thanh – Dau Giay), VEC recognizes
that most road users abide by
traffic rules. However, the situation where vehicles stop, pick up and drop off passengers on
expressways still persists, threatening traffic safety and order.
In order to increase traffic safety and curb
the afore-mentioned
situation as well as facilitate management activities, from January 25th
2016, Vietnam Expressway Corporation imposed
denial of service on vehicles which stop and pick up passengers on expressways which are managed by VEC.
In order to tighten management, prevent
vehicles from stopping and picking up passengers on expressways, VEC lays out the following
