More than 20 Vietnamese and French troupes compete at performing arts festival
May 21 2018

The Performing Arts Spring Festival (PAS 2018) is taking place at the Vietnam National Drama Theatre in Hanoi, from May 18 to 20, featuring performances by 23 troupes from Vietnam and France.

The participants competed in all forms of performance arts, including experimental theatre, improvisation, contemporary dance and movement, and music.

For the first time over the festival’s four editions, a French-speaking improvisation tournament was held with the participation of four teams of players aged between 12 and 15.

This year’s festival also includes musical performances by Vietnamese and French artists, and free art workshops in three languages, Vietnamese, English and French, on May 19 and 20.

Each workshop last for one or two hours and allows the attendees to learn and practice different genres of art such as drama, puppet, storytelling, and movement.

PAS 2018 is jointly held by the theatrical practice space ATH, the French school Alexandre Yersin, and Vietnam National Drama Theatre with the support of the French Embassy in Vietnam.

The annual event was first held in 2015 to create a venue for arts practitioners and communities in Vietnam and the other Southeast Asian countries to exchange experience and showcase their talents. - Nhan dan
