Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled to attend the expanded Group of Seven (G7) Summit and visit Canada over June 8-10 at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said at a press conference on May 31 in Hanoi.

This is the second time Vietnam has participated in the G7 Summit as an invited guest. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's attendance at the the forthcoming G7 Summit demonstrates Vietnam's increasingly elevated role and position in the international arena through its active and responsible contributions to  global issues of common concern.

The Vietnamese government leader’s upcoming visit to Canada on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2018) will contribute to promoting the Vietnam-Canada comprehensive partnership set up in November 2017 in a substantial and effective manner through enhanced cooperation on economics, trade, investment, science- technology, education- training, development cooperation, sustainable development, climate change adaptation, renewable energy as well as a number of regional and international issues of shared concern.

As scheduled, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc will give a speech at the expanded  G7 Summit, have bilateral meetings with senior leaders of the participating nations, hold talks with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau, meet with Quebec Governor, businesses and Vietnamese community representatives in Canada.
