Apr 13 2017

Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway construction project is the first expressway project in the Southern region that is invested, managed and operated by Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC). The project was launched on 03/10/2009, the line completely opened for vehicles on 08/02/2015, total length being 55km and runs through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province.

Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway is the essential traffic line which belongs to the North-South expressway. It lies within the Southern key economic region – one of the most dynamically developing regions that contributes the most to the economy. This is also a highly significant and economically potent traffic work.

In 2016, Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway safely served 13,5 million vehicles, output increased by 38% when compares to 2015, average output was around 37.000 – 40.000 vehicles/day (65.000 vehicles was recorded during the Tet Dinh Dau). For the first two months in 2017, there are 2,6 million vehicles safely travelled through the line, the growth being roughly 24% when compares to the same period last year.

On 10/3/2017, VEC has put the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) into operation in order to further strengthen its management and control over the traffic status throughout the line; intervene any traffic mishaps in time; maintain and monitor the activities from the devices set up along the line so that they can work at their best; guarantee the convenience and safety of the vehicles, thus maximizing the cost efficiency of the project. Together with the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), VEC has also put the closed toll collecting system for Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway with 33 doors utilizing RFID technology and 8 electronic toll collection doors (ETC) into operation to make it even more convenient for the customers circulating through the line. Moreover, this helps to reduce the management, operation and exploitation cost for the Contractors and simplify the monitoring procedures, the post-checking work from the entire toll collection process.

To deploy the closed toll collecting system, VEC introduces the service usage fee to vehicles that participate in traffics on Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway, following these details:
