The Vietnam-Japan Book Copyright Festival 2018 opened at the National Library of Vietnam on May 24, bringing together nearly 40 Vietnamese and Japanese publishing house and book copyright companies.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Information and Committee Hoang Vinh Bao highlighted that over past years, Vietnam and Japan have witnessed fine development, particularly in cultural links, which have laid a foundation for cooperation in the publishing sector.

He called on Vietnamese and Japanese publishers to strengthen cooperation and share their experiences in order to help people of the two countries to have a deeper understanding of each other’s land, people, and history.

The two-day event is held jointly by the Vietnamese Publishers’ Association and the Japan Book Publisher Association with the aim of strengthening cultural cooperation and exchanges between the two countries, while providing publishers with an opportunity to share their experiences in copyright trading.

It also helps to introduce Vietnamese publications to Japanese readers and vice versa. - NDO
